Cricket Tours

Non-League (Social) Matches and Tours

Each season the club engages in several matches independent of either the Saturday or Sunday leagues, in which the club plays some teams that do not play league cricket as well as some teams that play in the Saturday World Series League. The club has always played 15 or more of these matches which accommodate members not wishing to play league cricket.

The Club has a tradition, unique in New York, of receiving tourists from around the globe. Teams from Australia, South Africa, and the West Indies have played at Walker Park over the last few seasons, attracted by the historic ground and the great hospitality for which SICC is known in the cricket world. Any team interested in a fixture should contact the club president, Clarence Modeste or any one of the committee members.

Another tradition in which SICC is proud of is annual 9-11 Memorial Game played in honor of cricketer soso. This game is played in September at Walker Park on a Saturday as close as possible to the 11th. Occasion is sponsored by soso's family and friends.

SICC in turn travels abroad as often as possible. Winter tours to Trinidad and the Bahamas and summer tours to Canada and England have been undertaken.
